Hi, this is Jane Brown. I wanted to share a bit of information on Diabetes. In particular, how important it is for you to understand that you can manage your Diabetes and become a healthy diabetic with a few simple tips. We all know that it is not going to go away, but if you can control your blood sugar levels from spiking out of control – you will be much happier and feel better. There are many suggestions that I have for you but I wanted to share four with you in this article.
Let’s face it – when you first found out that you would have to make changes – I am sure you were very overwhelmed. But your success will depend on how you meet those challenges and manage your day to day lifestyle.
Even if you are Diabetic or on the verge of becoming one, your success will be at your fingers tips if you can incorporate these few tips:
- Being Health Conscious. Create a home environment that screams of HEALTHY! Remove all temptations of fast foods, unhealthy snacks, and unhealthy drinks – Call it the “Green” pantry
- Plan a Realistic Exercise Program. If you haven’t exercised for a while, start slow and work up to more rigorous activities. Do not overdo it or plan activities that you will be disappointed in if you can’t complete them. Be REALISTIC
- Create a Meal Plan that you LOVE. There is nothing worse then planning a meal and you don’t like the foods that you have created. Think about it. You won’t be happy, you won’t stick with it and your health will suffer. Plan on the RIGHT foods and enjoy!
- Have a Backup Plan. If you go to restaurants a lot, or entertain a lot, or can’t exercise when you plan – set yourself up with a Backup plan, and be consistent. If you think you are going to fall off the wagon with your meal plan, don’t be discouraged, tomorrow is a new day! Just don’t get into the habit of saying that too many times!
I suggest with these few simple tips, you will be able to manage your diabetes, you should be able to lose some weight and you should be able to enjoy life to the fullest. I hope that you return to join me as I have many more interesting articles that I hope you will enjoy!
